UCLA wants students in the stands.
The school has made all football, men’s and women’s basketball tickets free for students beginning Saturday for the Bruins’ football game against Purdue at the Rose Bowl.
“Our students are the heartbeat of UCLA,” new UCLA CEO and Director of Athletics Tim Harris said. “Their passion, energy and pride create an atmosphere that makes a difference for our student-athletes and coaches.
“We want as many students as possible experiencing UCLA Athletics, supporting their fellow Bruins and helping us build one of the best home environments in college sports. We need our students to show up, be loud, and make a difference.”
Registration to attend UCLA’s Big Ten home opener on Sept. 19 opened Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Students who previously purchased a 2026-27 Den Pass will receive an automatic refund by Friday, Sept. 25, per the school’s website.
Along with free admission, UCLA students will have the chance to purchase as many as eight guest tickets for each home football game. The only exception being the Bruins’ game against USC.
Ticket request process for men’s basketball games will be communicated prior to the start of the 2026-27 season.
Harris has been working to improve the fan experience and provide support for new football coach Bob Chesney. Making student tickets free for games is certainly step in the right direction after a low turnout from students under previous athletic director Martin Jarmond, who was let go by the university last month.
The Bruins have opened the season 2-0, which has already given UCLA fans a reason for excitement this season.
