In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, people are on the lookout for the best ways to not only cook great food but save time and energy while doing it.
A recent modern trend that has transformed our kitchens is the emergence of air fryers, and despite common belief you need to break the bank to get the best ones, it turns out there are a couple budget alternatives that do the job.
An air fryer is a countertop cooking appliance similar to a household oven but much more compact.
They use rapid air technology to create heat and circulate the hot air to cook the food.
Most air fryers come with a cooking tray, along with a rack or basket, and you can cook much healthier food with the use of little to no oil.
So nevermind your Ninjas, a Reddit user has drawn everyone’s attention to two options which are much cheaper.
Replying to a post asking about the cheapest air fryer options for people living in the UK, they said: “For a budget air fryer in the UK, the Tower T17021 or Salter EK2817 are great, compact options.”
The first, the Tower T17021, is currently available at a discounted £57 on Amazon, down from £79.99. It is family-sized with a large 4.3 litre capacity, and offers a range of digital controls and options that allow you to adjust temperature and the 60-minute timer.
Last but not least — and much cheaper — is the Salter EK2817. Also on offer at Amazon for a discounted £29.49 down from £34.99, it reaches temperatures of up to 200C, and boasts auto-shutoff technology with a removable non-stick cooking pot.
Both of them are incredibly compact, meaning you’ll have no problem finding a place for them in your kitchen.
Once they’re signed, sealed and delivered to your door, there’s one thing you must remember: clean them regularly.
Mimi Morley, Senior Recipe Development Manager at HelloFresh, said: “It’s a little surprising that so many people aren’t cleaning their air fryer after every use.
“There’s a general misconception that the heat in your air fryer will kill any bacteria, but this isn’t always the case.
“Also, not cleaning your air fryer can impact the flavour and taste of your food. When cleaning is quick and easy, why would you risk impacting the flavour of your delicious meal?”
