The end of the year is always an exciting time of the year, with many of us making plans for the next year. Whether it is to do with our goals or setting up a new bucket list, we’re thinking ahead.
With the cold temperatures that are sweeping across the nation, one thing that is definitely on a lot of our minds is where we can escape next for a holiday.
Well, travel expert Emily Coles gave a little insight as to which country seems to be the next hotspot for 2025.
She told Express.co.uk: “Japan is a destination with peaked interest, offering an array of architectural delights, steeped in history, as well as welcoming the art scene with opening arms.”
Japan is already seeing a huge increase in the number of visitors travelling to the country. Last year, the country welcomed over 25 million tourists, and by the end of this year, it is expected to see numbers fly to 35 million.
In October, Japan hit a record-breaking number of tourists, in which 3.31 million travellers from across the globe all found themselves in the bustling country. But what is drawing people to visit Japan?
The travel expert told Express.co.uk: “Japan’s vast variety of cultural activities such as local cooking classes, married with its natural beauty and unique dining opportunities are just a few of the reasons it has swiftly made it to the top of many bucket lists.”
Japan offers a variety of cooking classes where tourists can learn the skills to produce some of Japan’s most famous and loved dishes. What better place to learn how to learn how to create traditional Japanese dishes?
Besides the activities, Japan has a rich cultural heritage that travellers can easily immerse themselves in when visiting the country. It boasts a number of incredible landmarks and beautiful views, including Shibuya Crossing, the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing and Himeji Castle, an example of the country’s stunning architecture.
Japan’s government have plans to reach a huge 60 million tourists by 2030. However, the head of the Japan National Tourism Organisation believes that the number is “a figure that we [Japan] can very much achieve by making the right efforts.”
So if you aren’t sure where to head for your next trip, the numbers and the experts have said it all, Japan is the place to be, in fact, travel expert Emily Coles says a trip to Japan is the “adventure of a lifetime”.
