“Something has happened to us that we wouldn’t wish on anyone,” Fernanda revealed.
Vicente further explained: “We’ve been assaulted in the tent. We’ve been beaten. They’ve put a knife to our necks saying they’re gonna kill me. Fernanda has even been raped. Seven. Seven men,” reports Daily Express US.
Four suspects have been apprehended by Indian police, with the police chief for the state of Jharkhand stating that the remaining culprits have been identified and will be arrested “soon.”
The Spanish couple were travelling through the state of Jharkhand on motorbikes when they decided to set up camp for the night. According to police, they were en route to the northeastern city of Bhagalpur.
The pair revealed they were transported to a medical facility approximately 43 miles away for DNA testing.
They are renowned for journeying across different nations with just basic essentials.

According to their account, they’ve explored 66 countries over five years.
In a message posted to their supporters on Sunday, the duo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming backing and pleaded with people not to view India negatively.
“The police have done everything they can to catch them,” Vicente said.
“Do not think that India is like that. India is a great country and it’s worth visiting, with its good things and its bad things.
“Indians are good people,” they added.
“We’ve come across some undesirables, but there’s no need to generalize.”
