A trans police officer has been found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a child.

Volunteer Metropolitan Police officer James Bubb, who now identifies as a woman named Gwyn Samuels, has been found guilty at Amersham Law Courts of raping and sexually assaulting a child.

Bubb assaulted the victim multiple times while she was between the ages of 12 and 18.

The two met on video chat site Omegle in 2018, when the complainant was 12 years old and Bubb was about 21, before meeting in person for the first time at a Christian festival a few months later.

She told police she had said to Bubb that she was five years older than she actually was when they first met, but insisted that a number of incidents while they were together would have meant he knew she was under the age of consent.
