A royal photographer of fifty years who has taken iconic snaps of Diana, Princess of Wales has hit out at Prince Harry leaving the Royal Family. Arthur Edwards who has worked for The Sun since 1975, has admitted he has been astonished by Prince Harry’s “cruelty” in his actions, despite once being one of his his biggest supporters.

Arthur spoke in The Sun: “While the Oprah interview might have been Meghan’s doing, the tell-all Spare book was all Harry and that was pretty damn cruel. He mentioned that he wanted a reconciliation in his recent interview with the BBC but what he should have been saying was ‘sorry.’”

Harry gave a tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey during a CBS prime time special in 2021, during which, Meghan Markle stated she never “researched” the Royal Family.

She told the host: “I never looked up my husband online. I just didn’t feel the need to because everything that I needed to know, he was sharing with me — or everything we thought I needed to know, he was telling me.”

The photographer also revealed it is a shame Harry calls himself a “spare”, as is the name of his best-selling memoir.

He explained: “I think it’s such a shame Harry calls himself that as he was far more than a ‘spare’, he was a vital part of the royal family. He was by far as our readers were concerned, I thought he was their most popular member of the royal family. He was a super guy to work with and I loved working with him.”

Arthur Edwards, who joined The Sun in 1975, has travelled with the Royal Family to 120 countries and has become hugely popular among the likes of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been living in California with their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are working on their image, business ventures and restructuring their PR team.

Emily Robinson was appointed as their Director of Communications last week and was previously in charge of promoting the Netflix’s The Crown from series three to series six, according to reports.

The Royal Family are believed to not be fans of the programme which includes fictionalised scenes, the Daily Mail reports. Ms Robinson was reportedly part of the team which argued against calls for the show to add a ‘fictional disclaimer’ on series five. A source told the outlet: “In the circumstances, it’s almost beyond belief that Harry and Meghan would hire someone straight from The Crown.”

Harry and Meghan are said to be aware of their new comms chief’s role on the Netflix hit, but feel it is just one of a number she was involved with at the streaming giant.
