Queen Camilla’s son has denied rumours that he will one day take part in Strictly Come Dancing. Tom Parker Bowles, 50, was among those rumoured to take part in the new series, which began just weeks ago, however has not featured in the line-up.
While it is not known whether he was approached by the casting team, the King’s stepson has now made it clear where he stands with the dancing show. Speaking on Alan Titchmarsh’s programme Love Your Weekend, Camilla’s son said that it “would never happen”.
He then went on to say that the real reason for this is his two children Lola, 17, and Freddy, 15.
He said: “My two children are embarrassed enough about my dad dancing at parties.
“The idea of me getting into sequins and sort of running like that… no! So it’s not true, and would never happen. Great show, obviously, but not for me.”
Tom’s admission may come as a disappointment to Queen Camilla, 78, who is reportedly a big fan of the show and dancing.
It is believed she is one of the royals who enjoys frequently watching the show, with Princess Kate also believed to be a fan.
It has been previously reported that Camilla has met various Strictly stars, and even once danced with Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood at a charity event for the Royal Osteoporosis Society.
While it is unlikely Camilla herself will ever take part in the dancing competition, Revel Horwood did once say he would “love to see” her take part.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast previously, he said: “She (Camilla) loves dancing.
“She actually loves the show and I would love to see her on there because she would nail it, darling. She’s got fantastic rhythm.”
