A film-goer at a recent screening of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was left red-faced after being singled out by Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise.
Viewers of the incident have since dubbed it an “absolute nightmare” scenario. Cruise, who was interacting with the audience, commented on one attendee’s choice of snacks as the cinematic hero made his way to the stage.
The incident, which saw the fan being called out by Cruise for finishing all their cinema snacks before the film had even started, has been described by other fans as a “nightmare” scenario.
One cinema enthusiast shared a video of the uncomfortable moment on social media, stating that they “wouldn’t sleep for days” if they were in the same position.
In the viral video, Cruise can be seen pointing out a man in the front row, saying: “You ate all your popcorn already,” before hopping onto the stage. The six-word phrase left the surprised audience member staring into the camera.
Cruise’s fondness for popcorn is well-known – with the action hero often spotted enjoying the classic cinema treat at premiere screenings of the latest Mission: Impossible film.
In fact, he actually encouraged his fan to eat more of the snack. During the interaction that went viral, he cheekily added: “You have to go get some more!”
Social media users have since reacted to the clip, with one commenting: “Tom Cruise calling out a fan for finishing their popcorn before the movie starts.”
