Meghan Markle pleased royal fans earlier this month when she accompanied her husband, Prince Harry, to The Invictus Games in Canada.
While the Duchess of Sussex, 43, was only there for a few days with Harry before flying home to Montecito to see their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, the duchess managed to fit in a lot in this time.
Photographs and videos of the competition, which was first launched by Prince Harry’s Invictus Games foundation for ex-servicemen and women in 2014, were shared widely by news outlets and also on Meghan’s personal Instagram, which she officially launched last month.
However, the content she posted was very “intentional” according to one PR expert, who said there were three types of content missing on purpose.
Edward Coram James, CEO of Go Up, told GB News that the content was done a certain way by the duchess so people could see her as “relatable”.
He told GB News: “The choice of Invictus Games as the primary focus seems deliberate. It’s a bulletproof cause.
“Notice what’s missing? Any luxury, any Hollywood glam, any over-curation.
“This is intentional. She wants people to see her as relatable, hardworking, and philanthropic.”
When Meghan flew home early from the event in Canada, Prince Harry opted to stay until the tournament was over.
Despite being home, Meghan was still very active on social media as she spoke about the games and how the family was cheering everyone from America on.
She praised her husband for “changing lives” through the competition and the Invictus Games Foundation.
Since the end of the tournament, Meghan’s Instagram has focused mainly on her new upcoming lifestyle brand As Ever, which is set to launch in Spring.
