So if you fancy a snack whilst you tune in to tonight’s episode of Bake Off, here’s everything you need to know in order to make air fryer sausage rolls.
Air fryer sausage rolls
Ingredients
- Roll of ready-made puff pastry
- Pack of eight sausages or vegetarian alternative
- One egg
Method
First, roll out the ready-made puff pastry and allow it to sit for around 15 minutes whilst you do the rest of the prep.
Open up the pack of sausage and use a knife to carefully slice down the centre of each one to pierce the skin. Remove the meat from the skin, and roll it in your hands to create an elongated sausage shape.
Place two of these sausages horizontally at the top of the puff pastry sheet. Whisk up an egg and use this to brush the pastry just below the sausages, before rolling it over just once and slicing it off.
Repeat this process until you’ve run out of the puff pastry, then cut each roll into smaller bite-sized chunks and brush each one of these with the egg as well – this will help to create that glaze.
Put them in your air fryer, using a wire rack to separate the layers if your device isn’t big enough. Bake at 180C for 18 minutes, or until the pastry is crisp and golden brown. Serve immediately.
