Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl follows Gromit as he leaps into action to save his keeper when Wallace’s high-tech invention goes awry and he ends up being framed for a sequence of suspicious crimes.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Gromit’s concern that Wallace has become over-dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a smart gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own.”

The British comedy film was produced by Aardman Animations and the BBC in association with Netflix and directed by Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham.

Peter Kay stars as Chief Inspector Albert Mackintosh and Reece Shearsmith plays Norbot, an invesntion Wallacecreates tohelp him with chores around the house.

The film has received a 100% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics consensus reading: “Comforting as cheese and crackers, with some gentle ribbing of modern technology sprinkled on top, Vengeance Most Fowl revives this lovable pair with all their charm intact.”

One reviewer said: “The most sheerly entertaining movie I’ve seen this year.”

A fan on Reddit described the film as “brilliant” adding, “Aardman have done it again. The animation is just unbelievable, the things they pull off with stop motion. The humour was always bang on.”

In the Guardian, Stuart Heritage called it “a triumphant return”.
