A UK seaside town that been labelled as one of the worst in the nation, has been ranked as the best resort for Brits to visit this summer. A new study that looked at 50 UK holiday hotspots and ranked them based on weather, activites, accommodation, and beach quality. The towns were then a given score which led to a ranking of the top 10 spots, and it just so happens that a seaside town where locals claim they won’t leave their homes, hit the top spot.
According to CryptoCasinons.online’s analysis, Southend-on-Sea gained an impressive overall score of 89.56. Despite the criticism that the Essex spot recieves, the study describes the destination as a “bustling resort town” that has “something for everyone.”
Southend-on-Sea boasts a whopping 759 outdoor activites, more than any of the other destinations that made the top 10 list.
It is also home to one of the world’s longest pleasure pier, while other popular attractions includes its famed amusument park, Adventure Island, which has more than 40 rides and attractions, offering entertainment for the whole family.
Visitors have the option of three Blue Flag beaches at the Essex gem all guaranteed “clean” by CyrptoCasino, and perfectly matching the safe swimming conditions, and 9.25 weather score which “promises plenty of sunshine during the summer months.”
The company said: “The combination of traditional seaside charm with modern attractions creates an unbeatable package for summer 2025.”
However, according to Which?’s survery of the best and worst seaside towns in the UK, Southend-on-Sea isn’t that great. In fact, the town was ranked as one of the four worst in the nation, with a score of just 43%.
The consumer group calculated the scores by collecting the opinions of Which? Connect panel members’ recent trips to UK seaside towns, asking them how satisfied they were with the trip, and whether they would recommend the destinations.
Southend scored just one star or two stars across various catergories including, beach, seafront, tourist attractions, scenery, and shopping.
The town has also faced critcism for anti-social behaviour, and poor public facilities with visitors slamming it as “grimy” and “the worst place on earth.”
Despite the backlash, Southend-on-Sea remains a popular seaside town that welcomes over seven million visitors every year, who enjoy both day-trips and overnight stays.
