A top twenty list of shame shows how some of Britain’s busiest train stations have delays or cancellations hitting over 50 percent of their services – and ten of those stations are in one city.
The Train Station Report, conducted by ePowerTrucks, researched the percentage of delayed or cancelled trains over the past six months at the nation’s top 100 most frequented railway hubs.
The firm said the hit-and-miss nature of the UK’s modern train network was due to an increase in industrial action over the past 18 months.
It said in a statement: “Railway strikes have cast a long shadow over the nation’s transportation network.
“The findings of the Train Station Report serve as a wake-up call for policymakers and transportation authorities to address the root causes of delays and implement measures to improve the reliability of train services.”
