Roald Dahl enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating Netflix’s take on the beloved author’s 1980 masterpiece, helmed by producer and director Phil Johnston.
The animated feature centres on Mr and Mrs Twit, characterised as “the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world”, who possess and run the globe’s most perilous and absurd theme park: Twitlandia.
The official summary states: “When the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave children – Beesha and Bubsy – and a family of magical Muggle-Wumps, are forced to become as tricky as the Twits in order to save the city.”
Vanguard Animation initially held responsibility for the feature film adaptation, however in April 2022, after Netflix’s purchase of the Roald Dahl Story Company, it was confirmed the picture would debut on their platform.
