The sign Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won't have a third child after Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed two children in their five-year marriage – Archie Harrison, four, and Lilibet Diana, two.

Prince Archie was born in the UK in May 2019. The couple then welcomed Princess Lilibet into the world whilst living in the US – after stepping down as senior working royals – in June 2021.

The couple appear content in their adorable family unit, but Sussex fans have often wondered whether Harry and Meghan will welcome a third child into their brood.

Despite the pair’s love for parenthood, there have been telling signs that the couple are not set to expand their family – with Harry even giving a logical reason why they would stop after two children.

Here, Express.co.uk delves into the telltale sign that Archie and Lilibet aren’t set to gain another sibling.

Both Prince William and Zara Tindall have welcomed three children, which often led fans to believe that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could follow suit.

However, shortly after welcoming Archie, Harry was interviewed by Dr Jane Goodall for Vogue Magazine and stated that the couple would like two children.

When speaking about children, Harry assured Dr Jane: “[We would like] two, maximum! But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed.

“And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

Meghan, who was heavily pregnant with Lilibet at the time, also appeared to hint that they would be complete after their daughter was born.

Meghan said: “[I’m] just grateful to have any child. Any, one or two, would have been amazing but to have a boy and then a girl what more can you ask for?

“Now we’ve got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs.”

Harry stated that they were “done” with two children, with Meghan – who sadly suffered a miscarriage in July 2020 – adding: “Two is it.”

Harry and Meghan publicly announced their first pregnancy in October 2018 – shortly before their royal tour in Australasia.

Writing in Spare about his wife’s pregnancy symptoms – during her pregnancy with Archie – Harry said that she “felt lucky not to be suffering severe morning sickness” and was “tired, but otherwise a dynamo”.

Meghan and Harry announced their pregnancy with Lilibet on Valentine’s Day 2021.

As it was made during the Covid pandemic, the announcement pictures were taken by photographer Misan Harriman over zoom.
