London is a city known for its grandeur and wealth. It is estimated that 227,000 millionaires, 370 centi-millionaires, and 35 billionaires have made the UK capital their home.

The city’s many pull factors mean that it is one of the busiest and most in-demand places in the world. As a result, getting around the city can prove difficult during peak times. However, the wealthiest 1% don’t have to contend with the congested roads or the rammed London Underground platforms thanks to a little-known heliport in Battersea.

Edmiston London Heliport is used by the rich and famous to travel in and out of the capital. Famous names that have made use of it include Tom Cruise, Rita Ora and Justin Bieber.

The heliport is nestled between apartment and office buildings on Bridge Court Road. Flights take off and land there between 7am and 11pm.

This doesn’t come cheap, however. According to reports, a 15-minute journey from Battersea to Heathrow Airport costs £2,500. It is understood that the heliport offers flights around London and to nearby counties.

The heliport has been owned by Westland and Harrods, but it was bought by the Reuben Brothers, for £35 million back in 2012.

It was even exempt from the no-fly zone during the London Olympics in 2012, allowing VIPs to make their way to the games.

Edmiston London Heliport isn’t the only heliport in London. The royals have their own on the grounds of Buckingham Palace which is not available to the general public.

Heliports don’t just provide convenience for those who travel from them. Crucially, they help with security and safety for high profile figures on their travels.
