Prince Andrew may not have been a working royal for some time, however it appears that behind closed doors he is still very much part of the family.
Although his titles were stripped from him after his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein was revealed, and sexual accusations were made against him, the prince still returns to the royal stage when it comes to major events such as weddings, funerals and Christmas gatherings.
While King Charles and his younger brother have reportedly clashed this year over Andrew’s refusal to downsize from Royal Lodge in Windsor to a smaller property, it appears that the monarch will be putting any arguments aside for the festive season, with Andrew expected to be on the Sandringham guest list.
Set to attend alongside his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, two daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, and their husbands and children, the prince will most likely already be getting ready for the Christmas season.
However, according to OK! magazine, it is likely the prince could be staying at a remote royal farmhouse Wood Farm this year, rather than in the main house along with the King, Queen Camilla and other guests.
The five-bed farmhouse is on the Sandringham estate however sits alone in its own secluded area, a factor that made it a much-loved abode for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, with Philip having stayed at the farmhouse from 2017 until his passing in 2021.
According to OK!, a number of women who have married into the Royal Family have also spent time at the farmhouse including the late Princess Diana and Princess Kate, who spent time there in the early stages of her relationship with William when they visited Sandringham.
It is now believed Princess Kate and Prince William, along with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, stay at their nearby Norfolk home Amner Hall, attending the Sandringham celebrations in the daytime only.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told OK!: “As families expand, life gets more complicated. And the Yorks now have two sons-in-law and four grandchildren to consider. It is beginning to become untenable to have the whole extended Royal Family under one roof at Sandringham…especially with Camilla’s family to consider as well.
