Much has been made of the way the Rangers revamped their prospect pipeline since declaring their retool in January, but one homegrown youngster has also become a hot topic for discussion.
Gabe Perreault, his progress 54 games into his NHL career and his potential ceiling have all been up for debate this offseason.
The Blueshirts long have been criticized for an inability to develop, but Perreault — the No. 23 overall pick by the club in 2023 – is primed to make the Opening Night roster out of training camp for the very first time after an encouraging run last season when the team already had been eliminated from playoff contention.
