'The Price is Right' says goodbye to Studio 33 after 50 years, moves to new home next season

Monday brought the end of an era to legendary game show “The Price is Right.”

After 51 years, the show is saying goodbye to Bob Barker Studio 33 at Television City in California. The June 26 season finale was the show’s final episode in the studio.

“I used to tell people there was magic in the wood here because of all the good vibes that have been in this studio,” said host Drew Carey in a video posted to the show’s Instagram account last week.

“Now we gotta go and start a new place and put our own good vibes into that new place,” he said.

Season 52 of the show will be produced in a new studio in Glendale, a neighborhood in northeast Los Angeles.

The original “Price is Right” studio is named after Barker, now 99, who hosted the show from 1972 until 2007. Carey replaced Barker as host in 2007 and has been a part of the show since.

The cast of the show celebrated the final episode at Bob Barker Studio with an Instagram post.

“Today we say farewell to the legendary Bob Barker Studio. Thank you for all the memories. We’ll see everybody in Glendale next season!” reads the caption.

“I am blessed by being able to walk the same stage that people like Bob Barker (and) Carol Burnett used to walk on,” Carey said.
