Baking experts have shared a 10-minute pizza dough recipe that is made in just six steps and offers a tasty alternative to takeaways. Brits love their takeaways and pizza is up there on the list of the most popular dishes that diners order to their homes. However, takeaways are an often expensive treat and they can hurt our wallets quite a bit. While there are frozen alternatives to takeaways pizzas available in most UK supermarkets, they never really live up to the real thing.
But there is a way to make pizza at home that doesn’t take too long. In fact, it would probably be done by the time a takeaway would have even arrived to your house. Baking experts Baking Mad shared their pizza dough recipe that they say only takes 10 minutes with six straight-forward steps involved. They describe it as “simple and satisfying” and say that it “ticks all the boxes” when it comes to what we desire in our pizza.
“The dough has become a firm favourite among Baking Mad’s community, earning a five-star rating and rave reviews for its chewy, golden crust that rivals any restaurant pizza,” they said. “Once kneaded and proved, the dough can be rolled out thick for a soft, deep-pan base or stretched thin for a crispier, more traditional crust.”
To make the pizza dough in just 10 minutes, here are the ingredients they use:
500g Allinson’s Strong White Bread Flour
1 sachet (7g) Allinson’s Easy Bake or Time Saver Yeast
1 tsp Billington’s Unrefined Golden Caster Sugar
2 tsp Salt
300ml Warm Water
50ml Olive Oil
This is enough to make three large pizzas or four thin ones.
The method is as follows:
Add the flour, yeast, sugar and salt to a mixing bowl. Mix the water and oil together and stir that into the dry ingredients.
Mix the ingredients together until they are well-combined.
Lightly flour a workspace and knead the dough for 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 240C. Meanwhile, put some olive oil in the mixing bowl and place the dough back in, covering it and letting it sit until it doubles in size.
Divide the dough into three pieces and roll them out thin on a floured surface. While you work on one, make sure the others are covered with a tea towel. Use spatulas to lift them if you think they might break apart.
- Load the dough with your desired pizza toppings and bake for between 10 and 15 minutes.
