The ULEZ that operates 24 hours a day across every London borough will reportedly be scrapped for just one day.
The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is a designated area where strict emissions standards are enforced to improve air quality by reducing pollution from vehicles.
The concept was first introduced in London and has since served as a model for similar initiatives in other cities worldwide.
Non-compliant vehicles are required to pay a daily charge of £12.50 for most vehicles and it needs to be paid by midnight, three days after you headed into the zone.
Larger vehicles like lorries and buses face higher charges.
However for all those people who do drive non-compliant vehicles, there is one day in which there is no fee and you can drive your vehicle all over London, reports MyLondon.
The only exception to the ULEZ charge is Christmas Day, when no payment is required from midnight to midnight.
However, the charge resumes as normal on Boxing Day.
The Congestion Charge, which applies to Central London, follows a similar schedule during the festive season.
Typically, the Congestion Charge operates year-round, Monday to Friday from 7 am. to 6 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays from 12 pm to 6 pm.
During the holiday period, though, the Congestion Charge takes a longer break.
It is suspended from Christmas Day through to New Year’s Day, offering eight consecutive days without the charge.
