WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — As the Mets rotation takes shape this spring, with Sean Manaea slated to make his first Grapefruit League start Friday as the lefty looks to bounce back from a rough 2025, Kodai Senga’s impact on the team is anyone’s guess.
Will he be the force he was for most of the first half of last year, when he was leading the majors with a 1.47 ERA before suffering a hamstring injury while catching a high throw from Pete Alonso at first base?
Or will he be the injury-prone enigma he was for the latter part of 2025, as well as almost all of 2024?
Through the early part of spring, the right-hander has felt and looked good.
