The exercise women over 45 are doing to ‘ease stiffness’ in joints

As woman reach their mid-40s and beyond, it’s common to notice the body beginning to change in ways that can be both confusing and frustrating. Hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause and menopause can impact everything from metabolism and mood to bone density, sleep quality and joint mobility.

For many, these shifts lead to stiffness, fatigue and a loss of confidence in how their body feels day to day. But more and more are discovering a simple and gentle way to feel strong and in control again through yoga.

Now, with the Yoga-Go app, women can practise the exercises from the comfort of their own homes. The Yoga-Go app isn’t about doing complicated exercises, but offers movement that is accessible for everyone, regardless of fitness levels, and now, for customers who subscribe for the first time, they can save up to 61% on their first subscription.

With tailored, easy to follow routines designed speically for women over 45, Yoga-Go is said to help ease stiff joints, build strength, improve flexibility and restore calm, all while supporting hormonal balance and energy levels. Each program is developed by experts to suit fitness levels, goals and schedules.

Users can choose from 7-30 minute routines that fit perfectly into busy days, helping to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.

The app’s routines – chair yoga, wall pilates, and somatic yoga – focus on building long term strength and balance, using movements that are safe, sustainable and restorative. Over time, users often report less pain, better sleep and a greater sense of body confidence.

Another option is BetterMe, which is an all-in-one health app with over 3000 workouts including pilates, calisthenics and chair yoga, meal plans, water and calorie trackers and self care challenges. This app has a 4.7 out of 5 star rating from users as people say they ‘love the app.’

Down Dog is another option as it has yoga, pilates, meditation, HIIT, barre and prenatal yoga options for users to choose from. An additional feature is being able to set time, level, focus, voice and music to give a ‘personalised yoga practice every time’.

Although there are no direct reviews on the Yoga-Go app, it has garnered over 8,000 reviews on Trustpilot. One person said: “I decided to give yoga go a try as I had retired and was starting to get soft. After three back surgeries it isn’t always easy but after six months now I’m feeling better than ever. I no longer sit while I do my workouts as I’ve become so much stronger. Now I stand for them.” Another said: “I was very sceptical of the chair yoga but after a month it was noticeable the difference in my strength and flexibility. I can say in all honesty that at 71 years old I like what difference chair yoga has made in my life.”

It’s worth noting that some people didn’t feel as optimistic, for example: “Love the workout. Learning the movement and pace can be distracting but it keeps improving.” Another said: “It was helpful but l did not stay with it. My fault!”

Overall, most people were happy as this person said: “Love that you can make the workouts 15-20 minutes long. This really helps to squeeze them into a busy schedule. In addition you can choose how hard or easy you would like your workout to be.”
