A beautiful beach in Greece that boasts shallow water has been named the best in Europe for 2025. Port Glarokavos Lagoon Beach, which sits in the Kassandra Peninsula in Chalkidi, Greece, has been crowned as the best one in a survey conducted by Time Out magazine.

Glarokavos Beach, a stunning and highly sought-after destination, welcomes numerous visitors daily. Situated near Pefkochori in Kassandra, Halkidiki, it boasts a vast stretch of sandy shoreline, with pebbles lining the water’s edge and azure seas characteristic of Halkidiki’s beaches. Its impressive length allows for a variety of experiences, catering to those who prefer beach bars with sunbeds as well as visitors who enjoy a more secluded, unstructured swim.

One user wrote on the TripAdvisor forum: “Very nice beach with several beach bars. Not so crowded, and the day we visited, the water was crystal clean!! The beach is also suitable for families with young children.”

A second user wrote: “I just visited this beach and its incredibly clean now. There are still campers but no garbage at all.

“You can choose among a few bars on the western side and an incredibly beautiful wilderness east of the marina. A lot of room outside beach bars and a great place for beginner-level snorkeling.”

The beach boasts shallow waters and pine trees stretching almost to the shoreline, creating a vibrant, picturesque setting for swimmers. In some areas, pebbles dot the sandy expanse, adding to the coastal charm.

At the far end of the beach, a small lagoon forms, marked by a distinctive double sandy entrance, which acts as a mini-canal guiding boats toward the nearby harbor. This unique landscape has earned Glarokavos the nickname “Blue Lagoon of Halkidiki.”

A third user said: “Amazing clean waters, a great view towards Sithonia peninsula. Beds and umbrellas available plus a beach bar for all your drink and food needs.”

A fourth user said: “This is one of the best beaches in the area. A little pricy but worth every penny. On a packed out day it is a little over crowded so worth getting there early for the weekends.”
