Latest research by Platform Homeownership has revealed the overall top places to live. The research took into account serveral criteria, including, safety, happiness, cost of living, future potential and amenities (schools/entertainment).

1. Coventry

This major UK city is known for its vibrant cityscape and abundant connections to the rest of the country. 

Located in the Midlands, living in this city puts a huge range of places within easy reach.

With just a short train ride, you can reach Birmingham, with Warwick, Leicester and London also easily accessible by train.

The city itself is rich in history, and its beautiful cathedral is a focal point in its skyline.

2. Telford

2. Telford

Telford is the biggest town in Shropshire and one of the fastest-growing towns in the UK.

It sits around 13 miles east of Shrewsbury and 30 miles north west of Birmingham.

Cheltenham is known for its well-maintained parks, making it an ideal spot for outdoor lovers.

Zoopla says: “With its beautiful Regency architecture, widely lauded as the most complete collection in the UK, living in Cheltenham is akin to residing in an open-air museum exhibiting the magnificence of yester years.”

According to RightMove, house prices in Cheltenham have an overall average of £404,241 over the last year.

Platform Homeownership says: “Mansfield is the second-largest destination in Nottinghamshire, sitting centrally between Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield.

“Home to around 110,000, it’s a popular destination with homebuyers in the area and one of the fastest-growing towns in the country, built on a rich mining heritage that has developed into a strong sense of community.”

The town offers green spaces to breathe and relax, notably Sherwood Forest and Sherwood Pines.
