Fans of some popular McDonald’s menu items only have five more days to continue enjoying them – including a McFlurry that has taken diners by storm. The fast-food chain is known to play around with its menu, shaking up the items on offer on a regular basis. The tactic allows it to gauge customer favourites and give them a surprise re-introduction at a later date – though its upcoming removal of the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry from UK restaurants could leave some hoping for a speedy return.
The flavoured soft serve will be among four items to be axed from McDonald’s menus on June 17, alongside the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, Steakhouse Stack and McSpicy x Frank’s RedHot. The Biscoff McFlurry was first launched in June 2023 before being removed last year. Customers celebrated when the dessert made a grand return in April, but its second stint seems destined to be even more short-lived.
“McFlurry Lotus? I’m obsessed,” one enthusiastic diner wrote on X months after the item – which combines soft serve vanilla ice cream with Biscoff sauce and crumbled biscuits – debuted in UK branches in 2023.
“Have you tried the McDonald’s McFlurry Lotus?” another customer asked their followers last April. “It’s beyond awesome – totally worth it.”
The Steakhouse burger has also only been available for a matter of weeks, after it was re-launched at the beginning of May.
The chain has made sure it will be a bittersweet loss, however, by bringing back other menu favourites to coincide with the newly-axed dishes.
From June 18, UK branches will once again serve the McCrispy (£6,69), halloumi fries and toffee and apple pie.
Diners mourning the disappearance of the Biscoff McFlurry will be able to order a Toffee Crisp McFlurry (£2.39) from the same date.
And McDonald’s is also gearing up to launch its Big Arch burger (£7.99) next week – with two beef patties, white cheddar cheese, crispy and fresh onions, shredded lettuce, crunchy pickles and signature Big Arch sauce.
