A gay Texas judge allegedly had a defense attorney handcuffed in her courtroom and detained in the jury box.

Bexar County Judge Rosie Speedlin Gonzalez was indicted Thursday on a felony charge of unlawful restraint by a judicial officer and misdemeanor official oppression in the incident, which took place a year ago.

Gonzalez, 60, who oversees Reflejo Court, a treatment program for first-time domestic violence defenders, turned herself in.

Texas Judge Rosie Speedlin Gonzalez, 60, allegedly handcuffed defense attorney Elizabeth Russell in her courtroom.

“I’m a proud public servant, I’m LGBTQ, I own a gun, I’m bilingual, I’m an American citizen — and I have every right to defend myself,” Gonzalez told The Post.

“As long as I walk in righteousness and have God at my side I will be fine.

“But I have to follow my attorney’s advice and I can’t comment on the case.”

The controversial judge — who was once was fined for bringing a loaded rainbow-painted gun through San Antonio International airport — was arrested for the 2024 incident, during which she and defense attorney Elizabeth Russell clashed in the courtroom.

She was then booked into Bexar County Jail and released after posting a $40,000 bond, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Gonzalez was indicted on a felony charge of unlawful restraint after Russell filed a criminal complaint..

The dispute between the judge and Russell escalated during a hearing on whether to revoke probation in a case.

After the defendant pleaded “true” to one of the allegations, Russell cut in and asked for a moment to confer with her client, a transcript of the proceeding states, according to indictment records obtained by KSAT in San Antonio.

The dispute escalated after Gonzalez allegedly told Russell that attorneys cannot coach their clients, and went ahead with the defendant’s plea.

Then the judge told Russell she was “not allowed to be argumentative and argue just for the sake of argument,” the station reported.

“Take her into custody and put her in the box. We are not having this hearing this way,” the judge proclaimed, according to KAST.

After the incident, Russell filed a criminal complaint against Gonzalez, accusing the judge of restricting her movements without her consent and interfering “substantially with her liberty,” the station reported.
