Tesco has issued an urgent recall on its Tesco 10 Cooked Beef Slices because of an incorrect use-by date.

The details were released by both the supermarket and the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The supermarket said: “We are recalling a specific date code of Tesco 10 Cooked Beef Slices 125g due to an incorrect Use By date code.”

The Use By date code printed shows January 24 instead of December 24, and the extension could pose a risk to health.

Tesco urged customers not to eat the popular sandwich meat if purchased.
