Tesco is expanding its popular Finest Chef’s Collection range with 12 brand-new dishes, promising shoppers “restaurant quality” dining from the comfort of their own homes.

The supermarket giant has previously reserved the Chef’s Collection range for Christmas, but this is the first time it will be available for everyday dining occasions. Each of the meals is designed to serve two people, priced between £17.50 and £20, with Clubcard holders receiving a 25% discount. The dishes cover Italian, British and Indian flavours, ranging from slow-cooked lamb to spiced chicken and rich beef cuts.

Tesco says each dish comes with step-by-step cooking instructions and a QR code that links to plating, pairing and serving tips. The range launched in more than 160 larger Tesco stores on Monday (September 22).

Breige Donaghy, Tesco’s product development and innovation director, said the new meals were designed to help busy households enjoy high-quality dining at home: “We know life’s busy, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on amazing food at home.

“That’s why our chefs have created the Chef’s Collection, inspired by restaurant menus and packed with clever techniques that make it super easy to cook something special.”

Tesco’s executive chef Jamie Robinson added: “We’ve worked hard to bring authentic flavours from across the globe to customers’ kitchens without the stress of cooking from scratch.

“Most dishes have been gently slow-cooked, and come with our top cooking, pairing and plating tips to help you deliver great results every time.”
