Terrifying moment thug attempts to kidnap woman in Hawaii

A shocking attempted kidnapping caught on video in Hawaii has left residents terrified.

The shocking footage shows a towering man attempting to carry a 24-year-old into his car at a garage near the Diamond Head Gold Coast neighborhood in Oahu around noon on Monday.

The unidentified male is seen stalking the woman, who is walking with her elderly friend, from behind before confronting them and terrifyingly grabbing the younger woman after a short chase.

He’s then seen wrangling the woman, carrying her to his car.

Right before he gets to his car, the woman breaks free, falling to the ground. A witness approaches the man as he puts his hands up, and he is later seen quickly leaving the area in his truck.

The elderly woman said the man “looked like a monster.”

“He shoved me away from my friend and he picked her up,” she told Hawaii News Now. “He looked like a monster. He just had so much hatred and craziness in his eyes.”

“I was yelling, ‘Help! Help!’ and she was yelling, too.”

She said her friend was pleading with the large man to put her down as she prayed for a good outcome.

“She was saying, ‘You don’t want to do this. Don’t do this.’,” the elderly woman said.

“I’m kind of praying. Praying that people will hear us,” she said. “It was scary and she was giving a fight.”

A witness who intervened said she screamed at the man to drop the woman before the terrified 24-year-old made her escape.

“I just started screaming, ‘Drop her! Drop her! Drop her!’” Beverly Louis said. “She was screaming for her life. She was terrified.”

Another witness added that they also chimed in. “Let her go. I’ve called the police. I’m coming down there after you,” Neighbor and witness Mike Finkelstein said.

Hawaii police said the suspect was apprehended three hours later — after he was seen running naked down 22nd Avenue and Diamond Head Road.

Police arrested the man for kidnapping and second-degree assault.
