Teenager arrested in North London hit-and-run resulting in woman and dogs' deaths

A teenager has been arrested after a woman and her two dogs were killed in a suspected hit and run incident.

The 17-year-old was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and leaving the scene of the collision after Tuesday evening’s incident.

A woman, 28, was hit by a car on the A10 Cambridge Road in Edmonton, North London, at 7.23pm, while walking the two pet dogs.

Despite the police, ambulance service and air ambulance attending, paramedics could not save her life and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenager has now been bailed to report back to police in February.

A Met Police spokesman said this week: “An investigation remains ongoing.

“Detectives are keen to speak with the driver of a red Audi who was in the vicinity of the collision at the time
it happened.”
