New footage shows the terrifying moment when a 13-year-old Disneyland guest went over the waterfall on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure inside the Southern California theme park.
The teen boy appeared to be in the back of the ride car as it approached the iconic 50-foot drop when he suddenly tried to get out, in footage captured Sunday and obtained by TMZ. The video then showed the boy plunge down the water track to the bottom base of the ride.
Disneyland staffers were quick to stop the ride after the incident, Disneyland Resort officials told The California Post, and the teen was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. He was released a short time later.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was back up and running Monday without issue after it was inspected by officials from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA), The Post learned.
Disneyland guests on Reddit detailed witnessing the scary scene in person.
“I was in the ride when this happened I actually saw the kid fall down the hill for a second when our log passed the fall. 4 people in our log saw it and then one minute later the ride stopped for probably 10 minutes then it started again we went throughout the ride like nothing happened,” one user said on Reddit.
“When we got off there were about 6 Disney police and a mother and two kids were with them all soaked,” they continued.
