‘Teen Mom’ star explodes after civil case against Wine Country mayor who allegedly raped her

Reality TV star Farrah Abraham has unloaded on a former California mayor she alleged drugged and raped her — after a jury found him liable for sexually assaulting seven other women and ordered him to pay roughly $13 million.

The “16 and Pregnant” MTV alum, who is preparing for her own civil trial against former Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli, said the verdict gave her hope after criminal investigations into allegations against him failed to produce charges.

“My first reaction was, thank God there was some justice,” Abraham told CBS following Friday’s verdict. “My heart just goes out to them. I hope this gives them peace,” she said.

Abraham, best known for the hit MTV show “Teen Mom,” is one of 14 women who have publicly come forward with allegations of sexual abuse or assault involving Foppoli. She was not one of the seven women who brought the case decided this week. 

A Sonoma County jury found Foppoli liable for sexually assaulting the seven women in a civil trial and awarded them $13 million in compensatory damages. A separate phase of the case concerning potential punitive damages is expected to follow. 

The allegations against Foppoli stretch back nearly two decades, with the women describing incidents between 2001 and 2020. The accusations first exploded publicly in 2021, when multiple women spoke to the SF Chronicle.

Foppoli, 44, has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, maintaining that the sexual encounters were consensual. His attorney has indicated the defense is considering seeking a new trial or appealing the verdict. 

But Abraham said the civil verdict was particularly significant because the allegations against Foppoli have not resulted in a criminal prosecution.

“That is very concerning that we are not having criminal justice,” Abraham said. Foppoli has never been criminally charged over the allegations.

California authorities previously suspended their investigation after determining there was not enough evidence to bring charges in cases that were not barred by the statute of limitations. 

Abraham has her own civil lawsuit pending against Foppoli. She alleges he drugged and raped her in Florida in March 2021 after she attended a wine-tasting event.

Abraham told police she had no memory of what happened afterward and provided investigators with photos and videos connected to the encounter. Her civil case is scheduled for trial in February 2027. 

The Palm Beach Police Department previously suspended its criminal investigation into Abraham’s allegations, citing evidentiary issues.

Now Abraham says the verdict involving the seven other women has strengthened her resolve ahead of her own courtroom fight.

“I am just so happy, I am so grateful that seven other Jane Does got justification,” she told CBS. 

“Other people who have power and influence, if they’re out there doing this kind of behavior, you better be shaking in your boots, because hopefully this empowers a lot of women to stand up,” Carrillo added.

Foppoli resigned as Windsor mayor in May 2021 after the allegations became public. The California Post reached out to him for comment.
