Superstar Sydney Sweeney wished her Air Force brother well in a heartfelt social media post after he was deployed abroad — as tens of thousands of US troops are serving in harm’s way during the war with Iran.
Sweeney, 28, also sent her love to the troops serving overseas, telling them “Thank you for service” in the touching post Wednesday.
“Receiving calls from my bro always make me happy when he’s deployed,” Sweeney wrote on her Instagram story, in between promoting her new lingerie line.
She paired the post with a screenshot of her smiling and uniformed younger brother, Trent, as they apparently had a video call.
Sydney smiled back from her end of the call in the shot.
“Thinking of all our boys and girls overseas and sending my love! Thank you for your service :)” she added.
Trent has served in an Air Force munitions squadron since about 2020, and was promoted to a staff sergeant in Aug. 2025.
He has been deployed overseas several times since, and it remains unclear whether his current deployment has anything to do with the war in Iran.
At least 3,000 US Army troops are being mobilized for deployment to the Middle East, though it remains unclear if they will actually be sent into combat.
President Trump previously said he wouldn’t rule out deploying American boots on the ground in Iran.
Tensions ratcheted higher in the war — that began Feb. 28 when Israel killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a missile strike — this week, as Tehran dismissed a 15-point peace plan altogether within hours of Trump announcing that Tehran had agreed to abandon its nuclear ambitions.
Sweeney’s position on the conflict remains unclear — her social media has been dominated by sultry snaps of her in her new lingerie — but her status as a registered Republican was revealed last summer and fetched the president’s personal praise.
Her brother Trent also apparently tipped the family’s leanings with photos from their mother’s 2022 birthday party, where multiple people were seen wearing MAGA hats.
The snaps caused a furor when liberal Hollywood realized that one of the nation’s brightest stars may lean to the right.
Sweeney and her brother are close, and he notably came to her defense last summer when critics bizarrely accused her of flirting with Nazism for participating in an American Eagle denim campaign that used the slogan, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”
“I love my family, and I love where I came from,” Sweeney told Women’s Health in 2023. “Anything my family needs, I’m always there for them.”
