Switch 2 fans can get Pokemon Legends: Z-A for £36 not £51 – here's how

Pokémon fans rejoice as the newest adventure has finally hit the Switch and the Switch 2 from today. Pokémon Legends: Z-A was released on October 16 and takes place entirely in the Kalos region’s Lumiose City, which was introduced in Pokémon X and Y.

The game will see the player’s goal is to advance from Rank Z to Rank A via promotion battles with certain trainers to have a wish granted and collect Pokémon, including Mega Evolved Pokémon, in the form of real-time boss battles. Z-A also uses a real-time combat system that takes into account the player’s position instead of the usual turn-based combat that other players might be used to.

However, for those Switch 2 fans looking for a great deal on the game, we’ve found a cheaper way to get the game. Argos is currently selling the game for £51.99, but thanks to a deal at TopCashback, it can be knocked down to £36.31.

TopCashback is currently offering a £15 sign-up bonus to those who sign up with a new email and then buy the game from Argos. If it all sounds a bit confused, never fear. Here’s a quick rundown of how to get the game for only £36:

  • Sign up for Top Cashback via this link
  • Search for Argos as the retailer on Top Cashback and choose “Get Cashback”
  • That will take buyers through to Argos, where Pokémon Legends: Z-A can be ordered as normal
  • The cash will be deposited in shoppers Top Cashback accounts a couple of days later

For new members of TopCashback, they’ll pay £36.31 by the time the cashback reaches their account. Shoppers will see cashback appear within seven days of making the purchase. Existing members of TopCashback will pay £36.54 after cashback.

There are also other great games to jump on which has just been released. There’s also Borderlands 4 from Currys for £62.99 that can also be used with TopCashback to knock £15 off the price. Gamers can also consider Ghost of Yotei on Amazon for £59.99 – the newest PS5 exclusive game that’s received hit reviews and feedback.

When it comes to reviews, Pokémon Legends currently has an 80 on Metacritic. Eurogamer’s review noted that the game “needed work” but was a return to form. They said: “Lumiose City could do with work, but Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a much more tightly focused – and delightfully goofy – return to better form. At least by modern Pokémon’s standards.

GamesRadar+, during its review, said: “Pokémon Legends: Z-A offers a true slice-of-life Pokémon experience thanks to its anime-style real-time combat system and wholesome worldbuilding elements. While its single-city setting can sometimes feel a bit samey, Lumiose is densely packed with things to do and discover. This is a world worth getting lost in.”

Nintendo Life also noted the lack of exploration in its review. They said: “Pokémon Legends: Z-A should be celebrated for its fabulous real-time combat and its largely smooth jump to the Switch 2, but in condensing things down to one single location, it loses part of the Pokémon magic that Arceus and many other entries managed to amplify”
