Sweet moment Prince William comforts Prince George during 'awkward' exchange

Prince William made a sweet gesture to comfort his son, Prince George, when he appeared to feel “awkward”, during a ceremony back in 2022, a body language expert has claimed.

The Prince and Princess of Wales took two of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to accompany the rest of the Royal Family to a memorial for the Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey.

After the memorial, the royals greeted people who had gathered for the event, which is where George appeared to “feel awkward”.

Body language expert Nick Davies said that the moment took place when William up a conversation with a member of the military.

George was seen “clutching his hand” when he previously entered the Abbey looking confident.

The expert told the Daily Star: “George appears more confident looking forward, staffing upright[…]

“Until he entered the Church doors when he takes a deep breath quickly, gulps and licks his dry lips which is caused by pre-emptive anxiety, but he maintains good eye contact and once he is spoken to by one of the clergymen he breaks into a broad smile showing his confidence.

“However, once his father talks to the Navy gentlemen with the gold braiding, George’s mouth tightens to the left and he rubs the bottom of his jacket with his right fingers, showing he feels awkward and is seeking comfort.

“William naturally recognises this putting his hand on George’s shoulder.”
