Prince William and Princess Kate took to social media yesterday with a new post full of pictures from the last year to wish royal fans a Happy New Year.
While the majority of the pictures showed Prince William and Kate’s royal work, alongwith photographs of them and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, fans were also quick to spot one sweet detail that some may have missed.
In amongst the pictures of the family’s year, a selfie of Prince William, George, Charlotte and Taylor Swift was shared, taken at one of her UK shows last summer.
The photograph, a selfie taken by the pop star herself, shows William, 42, and his two eldest children smiling as they met Taylor backstage. The future King had already met the pop legend years before, with the pair believed to be on friendly terms.
Princess Kate, who was undergoing treatment for cancer when the gig was on, is believed to have stayed at home with Prince Louis at the time of the show.
While most of the comments on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media message was to wish the family a happy 2025, Taylor Swift fans could not help but spot the sweet selfie.
One wrote: “I knew the Taylor Swift pic was making the cut!”
A second commented: “Princess Charlotte’s smile with Taylor Swift is the best!”
A third said: “I love them all, but the picture of Prince William and the children with Taylor Swift where he looks more excited than they do is still my favourite. What a beautiful family they all are.”
As well as the selfie with Taylor Swift, pictures of the family were also used from Trooping The Colour and Princess Kate’s Together At Christmas carol service.
Photographs from Princess Kate’s video released in September to mark the end of her chemotherapy treatment also featured on the post, which since yesterday has received thousands of comments and over 450,000 likes.
The post was captioned: “Happy New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful 2025.”
