Surprising ‘nail in the coffin’ of Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal revealed | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been dealt another blow this week after an insider has revealed that there “isn’t a demand for her wine” on a large scale. This revelation, which has been described as the final “nail in the coffin”, comes just days after it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix deal, believed to be worth £78 million, will not be renewed when it ends in September.

While Meghan and Harry have other sources of income, the news that Meghan’s As Ever Napa Valley wine also doesn’t seem to have a long future is likely to be a concern for the couple. Having launched on July 1, the wine sold out within hours.

However, it is believed this is simply because there wasn’t a lot of it available in the first place.

As reported by GB News, an insider told the Mail that the wine available was only a “small batch”.

The insider also said that Netflix believes the wine launched revealed a lot about the future, showing that “there isn’t a demand for her wine from a mass market point of view”.

It is believed that they also saw a supermarket or department store deal for the wine as being “unlikely”.

Since the launch of the wine at the start of the month, Meghan has not confirmed when As Ever stock will next be available.

Instead, the Duchess seems to have been quieter than usual on social media, with her last post being on her As Ever account over a week ago.

On her personal account @meghan, the Duchess has not posted since July 4 when she gave fans a glimpse on how the family spent Independence Day.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, brand and culture expert Nick Ede said he thinks Meghan’s radio silence on social media could be to build momentum.

He said: “I think that it’s a way of building momentum and so she can make a new announcement, which once again will gain column inches.”
