Storm Nelson LIVE: Snow falls in parts of UK with Met Office warning 48 hours of chaos

Parts of Devon experienced heavy snowfall last night as Storm Nelson is set to bring 70mph winds over the next 48 hours. The Met Office has issued a number of yellow weather warnings for parts of the UK – including England’s south coast, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The forecaster warned that in Wales, rain “could turn into snow overnight”, causing possible travel disruption this morning.

Meanwhile, pictures on social media platform X show snow falling in parts of Devon last night, with a yellow weather warning in place for “strong winds and large coastal waves”. This covers Devon, as well as Portsmouth, Brighton and Cornwall.

Parts of Northern Ireland have a warning in place for rain, with blistery conditions expected.
