Store closures LIVE: Major retailers Boots and Lidl to axe stores today

Pharmacies, supermarkets and coffee shops are among the major retailers that will close stores across the UK this March.

The month will see a flurry of stores axed from British high streets weekly starting from today.

At least four popular retailers have confirmed the loss of select locations across the country including Lidl, Boots, Costa Coffee and Argos.

Marks and Spencer, WHSmith and The Body Shop could follow suit with some branches earmarked for closure this year.

Recent figures from the Centre for Retail Research discovered that several factors are to blame for the ongoing retail “crisis”, which has caused mass job losses as a result.
