Store and reheat your leftover pancakes correctly to preserve their fluffy texture

Contrary to popular opinion, pancakes are quite resilient and offer various storage options once they’re cooked.

However, it’s important to know how to store and reheat them properly to prevent them from getting soggy and chewy.

The key to keeping pancakes fresh is allowing them to cool to room temperature before refrigerating them.

Storing hot pancakes directly may cause condensation, resulting in a soggy texture.

To store pancakes, you can either wrap them in foil and place them in the fridge or use an airtight container, and they will stay fresh in the fridge for up to a week.

Typically, the pancake will require around 90 seconds to two minutes in the toaster, but since each toaster model varies, you may need to experiment with a trial pancake to find the optimal time.

If your pancakes are oversized and won’t fit in the toaster, you can either cut them in half or try the oven method, which also helps when there is a larger number of pancakes to reheat.

To use the oven method, preheat the oven to 180˚C and arrange the pancakes on a baking pan in a single layer.

Cover the pancakes with foil to prevent them from drying out, and then place them in the oven for approximately four minutes.

This ensures that each pancake maintains contact with the hot baking pan, ensuring even reheating.
