Making the perfect steak can be tricky but Jamie Oliver says adding one ingredient will keep your meat tasting succulent. If you’re cooking steak at home, it can be hard to get it right – you might find your steak is tasting dry and lacking that restaurant quality.
Jamie Oliver suggests one easy tip which will transform your meal and make your steak juicier. The celeb chef suggests rubbing the steak with a knob of butter, he says “the sweetness from the butter will make it taste divine”.
Chef’s Resource says: “When it comes to savoring a perfectly cooked steak, there are numerous ways to enhance its flavor.
“One popular method that has stood the test of time is slathering a pat of butter onto a sizzling hot steak.
“The addition of butter not only elevates the taste, but it also contributes to a melt-in-your-mouth texture that can take your culinary experience to the next level.”
But this is not the only tip the chef provides for making the perfect steak.
On his website, it says: “Before you start, get the steak out of the fridge and allow it to come up to room temperature about one hour before cooking – frying or grilling it from cold will stop the heat from penetrating to the middle as efficiently.
“You also need to make sure your pan, griddle or barbecue is super hot before you begin – this will help to caramelise the meat, essential for a delicious crust.”
If you’re wondering what to have with your steak, you can pair it with chips and a salad. One classic essential to add to your meal is peppercorn sauce or even a horseradish sauce.
By following these simple tips, you can elevate your meal and make sure your steak is tasty and delicious.
