Spencer Jones was asked by The Post on Tuesday about the potential lack of a path to the majors with the Yankees while he was slugging at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
With a roster that includes Cody Bellinger in left field, Trent Grisham in center, Aaron Judge in right and, at the time, Jasson Domínguez filling in for the sidelined Giancarlo Stanton, Jones was realistic.
“In my mind, there are a lot of things out of my control,’’ Jones said, then added, “I just show up excited every day. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope I get an opportunity. But it’s not killing me or anything. I’m just doing what I’m doing and living the life.”
Now, he’ll get his chance.
