Spencer Fano had a big celebration after being drafted Thursday night, and his fiancée sure got an up-close view at it all.
Just seconds after the Browns told the Utah offensive lineman they were selecting him with the No. 9 pick in Thursday’s NFL draft, Fano exploded with joy.
The 21-year-old, who decided to have a draft night party at home rather than attend the festivities in Pittsburgh, yelled “let’s go,” and then he hopped up onto the couch.
Fano, stomping around the furniture, high-fived his friends and family, all as his soon-to-be-wife, Sami, sat just inches away.
Fortunately, Sami moved out of the way and was able to share in her 6-foot-6, 311-pound fiance’s joy once she got upright.
Sami and Fano got engaged just recently, and in an Instagram post on March 31, they seemed to indicate their wedding would occur in July.
Fano will start his NFL career just weeks after that, and should have a real chance at earning a starting spot on Cleveland’s offensive line.
Fano played right tackle throughout the entirety of the Utes’ 2025 season, though his arm length (32 1/8 inches) had draft pundits wondering if he’d need to switch positions once he got to the NFL.
Fano, though, told NFL Network at the scouting combine earlier this year he would have no problems moving.
“If you want me to play center, I’ll play center,” Fano said. “I’ll do whatever it takes to be great in this league.”
