A small plane with an engine issue suddenly landed on Huntington State Beach in Huntington Beach in front of stunned onlookers.
The plane, a two-seater, made the emergency landing on the sand on Monday. The pilot Mike Bremner reported the engine issue after they departed from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana.
No injuries have been reported.
The plane is registered to the Elder Abuse Air Force. They’re a charity organization located at John Wayne Airport that works to guard seniors from financial fraud and physical abuse.
The plane was a Piper PA-28. It landed safely at about 2 p.m. south of Magnolia Street in Orange County. The state beach has volleyball courts, basketball courts, bathrooms, and fire-rings for bonfires
Bremner said they were flying to a meeting in Van Nuys when the engine experienced problems.
“At that point we ran a very quick check to try to get the engine going again,” Bremner told NBC4. “Given that we were out about 1,000 feet, we had to determine very quickly where to land. We chose the chose the beach.”
