Sky offers the iPhone Air for a price much cheaper than rivals

The dust is beginning to settle on Apple’s latest iPhone 17 launch, but it seems as though the new smartphone that grabbed the most attention doesn’t have a ‘17’ in its name at all. The iPhone Air is a new design for Apple, with a 5.64mm thick titanium chassis that makes it the slimmest iPhone ever.

The fact it means the phone only has one rear camera and has spawned an optional official MagSafe battery pack doesn’t seem to have bothered some, and it may not bother you either. If you want an iPhone upgrade that feels truly new, the iPhone Air delivers that in spades.

The £999 RRP phone is quite expensive from most UK mobile networks – EE charges at least £54.26 per month – but we’ve found a deal for the iPhone Air that’s much cheaper.

Sky Mobile is offering the 256GB iPhone Air for £32 per month on a 36 month contract, with the option to swap your handset to a new device after 24 months at no extra cost.

This first price is the device repayment plan. You then have to add a mobile plan on top of that to get minutes, texts and data. Sky’s cheapest option is £1 per month for 1GB data with unlimited calls and texts.

1GB is not a lot, but if you live your life mostly on Wi-Fi and don’t stream video or take video calls on mobile data, then it might suffice for you.

Adding this onto the device plan brings you to a grand total of £33 per month. Over 36 months, that’s £1,188, only £189 more than buying the iPhone Air (without a mobile plan) today. Sky generally does not increase its contract prices mid-contract, but make sure to check the terms and conditions before signing up.

If you can’t afford to buy a £999 iPhone upfront, this Sky deal is a good way to get hold of the iPhone Air at a much more affordable outlay over three years.

We’ve also rounded up all the best iPhone 17 deals.

If you need more than 1GB mobile data, Sky has several other options. A good pick could be £10 per month for 10GB 5G data with unlimited calls and texts. This would bring you to £42 per month, a total of £1,512 over the 36 month contract.

One thing to note is that the iPhone Air is an eSIM only smartphone. That means it has no SIM tray, so you can’t use a traditional physical SIM card. Whether you get a new number with Sky or want to transfer your number from your current provider, you’ll need to get set up with an eSIM, where your number is transferred electronically and registered on the device.

If you’re unsure about how this will work for you, Sky has a handy eSIM help page.
