Sky offers broadband at ‘lowest ever’ price but we’ve found something cheaper

If your broadband feels too slow and far too expensive, then now could be a very good time to look at switching to a new deal. Sky has just announced that it is offering internet access at its lowest ever price with things cut on two super-fast plans. Firstly, there’s Sky’s 300Mbps option, which is currently priced at a very reasonable £28 per month. If that sounds way too lacklustre, then you can switch things up and get ultrafast 900Mbps downloads for just £38 per month.

As a quick guide, 300Mbps speeds will allow you to download a full HD movie in just two minutes, switch to 900Mbps technology and you’ll get that same film delivered in under 40 seconds.

Both of these deals are based on a two-year contract with no upfront fee to pay. Like all providers, Sky’s prices will rise on a yearly basis so it’s worth factoring that into your finances.

These are good deals from Sky, but before you sign on the dotted line, it is worth shopping around.

Express.co.uk has had a quick look at the broadband market and have spotted a very good deal from Virgin Media with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) currently offering very fast 1,130Mbs downloads for just £29.99 per month- that’s one of the lowest prices we’ve seen.

If you happen to live in London it’s also worth checking out Community Fibre with the London-based provider offering 500Mbps access for just £20 per month which is a bit of a bargain.

If these deals also don’t sound fast enough, don’t panic. Sky has also just announced the launch of download speeds in excess of 4.5Gbps.

There are two new plans to choose from, including Full Fibre 2.5 Gigafast+ and Full Fibre 5 Gigafast+.

Sky says that it is now the UK’s fastest major broadband provider, with those signing up getting internet access at well over 20 times the UK average.

Along with those better speeds, Sky is also dishing out an improved Gigafast+ hub which packs Wi-Fi 7 technology under its shell. This router will be able to cope with faster speeds, along with allowing more devices to connect at the same time.
