Sky issues urgent price deadline for UK homes with broadband – you must act now

Homes that want speedy broadband at a lower cost might want to act now. Sky has been running a sale on its fast Full Fibre 150 plan, with the firm promising its lowest price on the package. Now that deal is coming to an end with Sky confirming that customers must act before midnight tonight, June 25, to take advantage.

The deal offers this service for just £26 per month, which is pretty reasonable. For example, EE charges £29.99 for similar speeds, and Sky’s slower 75Mbps plan is currently the same £26 price.

With 150Mbps downloads whizzed into homes, a full HD movie would take around 4 minutes to download – that’s twice as fast as the UK average.

As we mentioned before, this offer ends today, but don’t panic too much if you miss the deadline, as there are some other decent broadband deals available right now.

Virgin Media is dishing out 132Mbps connections for £23.99 per month, Vodafone has 150Mbps broadband for £26 and Plusnet has 145Mbps speeds for £25.99.

If you happen to live in the capital, there’s also a very good deal from Community Fibre. This smaller provider has three months for free right now, which means you can sign and pay nothing until the autumn.

As long as you are out of contract, switching should be pretty straightforward, and it’s worth shopping around for the best deals, as it could save you some serious money. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) often hand out cheaper prices to new customers, so it’s likely that you’ll get a better deal by moving. Also check out smaller so-called Alt Nets in your area as these companies can have very fast speeds at very low prices.

If that sounds like something you have the time to do, here are some of the best UK broadband deals.
