You can even get a cup of tea for £1 these days, so it might surprise you to find out that Sky is offering phone SIM upgrades for just a quid.Yes, you did read that correctly, the TV and telecoms firm has announced a deal that is dishing out a whopping 10GB of 5G data for £1 per month. This deal even includes the ability to roll over any spare data so it can be used at a later date.
There are also unlimited calls and texts so you shouldn’t rack up any extra charges when calling friends and family.
“Get our 10GB data plan for just £1 a month,” Sky confirmed.
It’s a very good deal but you might be wondering if there’s a catch. Sky says the £1 offer lasts for the first three months before rising to the standard £14 price. You will have also have to sign up for 12 months with total price for the SIM working out at £129 over the year.

So how does that compare to other deals from rival networks?
SMARTY, which is owned by Three Mobile, has a deal which is offering a whopping 200GB of data for just £12 per month – that’s £144 for the year.
There’s also 40GB for £10 per month – that’s £120 for 12 months of access.
Tesco Mobile has offers for those with a Clubcard with 12GB of data currently costing just £9 per month. The only downside of this deal is that you have to sign up for 24 months.
Giffgaff has 18 month contracts available which currently offer additional data at no extra cost. That means customers can get 50GB of data for just £12 per month or 100GB for £15 per month.
Finally, EE has some very good offers which include extras such as Apple Music or Apple TV+. The firm’s Unlimited All Rounder for iPhone usually costs £42 per month but that price has been slashed to £29.
The deal includes unlimited data, no-charge for roaming in EU, uncapped speeds and priority coverage in busy areas.
