Search underway for driver swept away by SoCal floodwaters in San Bernadino

A driver was swept away by floodwaters in San Bernardino Tuesday after clinging to the top of a truck, leading to a frantic rescue effort.

The person had been sitting on the roof of the vehicle in the Devore neighborhood as heavy rains again pounded Southern California late Tuesday night.

As rescue crews arrived shortly before 11:30 p.m, they watched as the victim was carried away by the rushing water.

Crews had to stop searching for the individual after two hours due to the  weather and were expected to resume at daylight.

The person remained missing as of Wednesday morning.
